Agricultural films containing the optically active additives of CASCADE for improved growth of vegetable crops were developed as part of the ORCA collaborative project.  Led by the VEGEPOLYS competitiveness cluster, the ORCA project has received funding of € 324,000 from the Loire region.

It is a collaboration involving various industrial and academic partners:  CASCADE (the creator of the optically active formulations), TRIOPLAST (Industrial producer of greenhouse films), the CNRS (IMMM-Institute of Mines and Materials of Le Mans), and INRA (IRHS-AgrocampusOuest).  This project is now in its final year with the objective of validating the first commercial films for European strawberry and melon crops for the next growing season.
